Vibrachoc and The Palau de la Música Catalana

The emblematic auditorium planned by Luis Domenech, inaugurated in 1908 and declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1997 is facing its second and definitive enlargement stage. Its center was redesigned between 1982 and 1989. Oscar Tusquets’ project responds to technical and space requirements. It also achieves a respectful and balanced result between two architectural conceptions.

Within this Project, VIBRACHOC has just isolated the air conditioning system room with a floating floor of 83 m2 based on the new anti-vibration element VIBRAFLOT. This floor has a total weight of 42 TN and it is hung up 105 shock absorbers of which frequency is 5 Hz.
